Day 1 Intro : Older lady having a S L O W time of it.

Hi all! I'm so frustrated! But, I am not willing to give up right now. I've done that enough times over the past eight months!

It's like what SHOULD work just isn't working. It's worked for my same age friend, but of course she is a different person. She also has been doing weight training type workouts for years, so her body is likely better at burning fat (She too had crept up in weight, and she did work hard to loose it.....probably she was at it longer than I am thinking. And now that I am writing this, she too would get frustrated with it not working and having to cut back more!)

20+ years ago I weighed around 170 at age ~30. I discovered low carb eating and the pounds just melted away. It was "easy". And, I continued eating some ice cream every night while still losing, and had occasional "beer and pizza nights". I got done to 137, crept up to 145, and then stayed there for a long time.

NOW, eight months ago, I found myself at 202. That's considered morbidly obese, though it's not soooo bad. But, I know I can't just continue to gain, at the least. And, I decided I want to lose. I have stopped and restarted many times after stuff like vacations, breaking a tooth, etc.

Back to low carb with plenty of veggies, as my friend advises. I basically don't have any starchy carbs, only veggies and fruit and whatever carbs come along in stuff like cottage cheese. Plus, yes, the ice cream. I don't drink any alcohol though.

By last week I was down 3.5 for this most recent (final!) restart. But, then I quickly went back up a pound which took a week to come off! The only additional things I ate to gain back that pound was 1.5 10" tortillas and a chipwhich. SO FRUSTRATING!

I gotta figure out how to eat less than I have been. I don't think I can do it without the ice cream, so I'd rather cut back elsewhere.

Sample day:

Cottage cheese, blueberries, dry oats

Salad greens, ground beef, croutons, salad dressing

Bag of frozen riced cauliflower /broccoli /carrots with ground beef, butter, maybe a little parmesean.

Light mint choc chip ice cream.

.... Thanks for reading!
