Background info: 23/F. Lost 100lbs (47kg) in 19 months. Been overweight/obese my whole life so I never knew what I looked like at a healthy weight until recently. (Still don't think I look like I'm at a healthy weight but I am unless my scale is off)
Since I lost majority of my weight during covid I've been pretty much stuck at home and didn't see my friends and family for a really long time. So now each time I do see them I get weight questions or comments each time - unfortunately for me since I'm not a fan of it.
I never really go into details but I tell them I lost weight just by changing portions and the amount of food I eat.
They almost always bring up "you had to cut out bread" sometimes they say carbs but mostly they just bring up bread. And I tell them politely that I still eat bread every single day, I just changed the quantity. And I'm just met with "no way, quitting bread made me lose weight, there's no way you lost that much without cutting it out"
One other thing is that they don't believe I don't work out. Now during those 19 months I maybe worked out for a month and that was last summer. The last time I worked out was August 2020. I want to workout but I just had zero motivation and my mental health has been at an all time low. I don't tell them I barely moved this year because I know I'll be believed even less if I say that. I pretty much spent the majority of my days in bed. I know that's unhealthy but it's the truth. I want to start working out so I get to feel better and can shape up my body more
People just don't believe me when I say I pretty much achieved everything with changing food quantity. It could be because they never saw my body at this weight, I mean I never seen it either. I just wish I wasn't met with "there's no way you don't workout". And I always tell them everyone is built differently and you loose weight in different spots but it's still not enough for them to believe me fully.
