I still think weight is an important measure of health, but it's important not to get too fixated on looks in the journey and also focus on habits. What are your victories related to habits, nutrition, exercise, sleep, less screen time, etc. that will help you stay in a better mindset to lose weight?
For me:
*I just realized that some water tasted funny. I know that's trivial, but sometimes you can't taste food or drinks as well when you eat too much. I also think that even vegetables taste a little sweet now.
*I can have a sleepless night and still feel fine.
*I used to drink coffee to feel like I could function. Now I just drink it because I like it, most days, still have some days when I need coffee badly but less of them. Haven't cut back though even though I don't need it as badly lol. I'm a coffee lover.
*I crave healthy food often. If I do choose a less-healthy option, I still crave fruits and vegetables on the side.
*I don't like to go even one day without a walk! To be fair I don't work out that much, but I walk outside daily. An off day is a day with a short walk, instead of a day with no exercise at all.
*I don't like soda--most of the time. When I do drink soda it's a once-in-a-while thing, like once every few weeks at worst and once every few months at best. I cannot imagine drinking soda on a good day, only on an off day.
*I often crave a "small dessert" so I can have my treat and still enjoy real food, plenty of it. I no longer like the idea of eating a good-sized dessert often. A "small dessert" is something like a couple small cookies or a couple tiny chocolate nuggets.
