I was reading an article about how in Ireland, Subway bread was too sugary to be considered bread legally. Most bread has a lot of sugar and generally isn't healthy. Even WonderBread had to be 'fortified' way back because of how non-nutritious it was.
There's a bread called Healthy Life at basically any store, maybe a little more expensive than white bread but not much. There's even an Aldi version. It is typically 35-40 cals a slice and low in sugar, high in fiber. I use it without abandon. Tastes just fine too.
Highly recommend anyone trying to lose weight be VERY careful about eating bread. Especially in restaurants. For many folks, simple carbs disrupt appetite too while fiber makes you full on fewer effective calories.
Give it a shot!
