My boyfriend wants to lose 30 kgs and get healthy for the first time in his life at aged 40. Help please!

My boyfriend is approaching 40 and has finally realised it's time to stop eating like a college kid stroke bachelor all his life. I am not sure exactly how much he weighs but it must be around the 100 kg mark.

If I am honest, I am feeling very overwhelmed by his commitment to get fit and eat healthy as I don't know where to start. He has asked me to plan all his meals for him and go food shopping with him as he seems to think because I am at goal weight that I must be some health guru. I am not. I just eat moderately, drink a ton of water and do minimal exercise.

My main motivation for joining this subreddit today is to hear from men in their 30s and upwards who have made a drastic change to lose weight and what diet/exercise tips and advice you can share so I can incorporate this into my boyfriend's new regime. If you could also shed (sorry weight pun) some light on how you were able to lose belly weight as my boyfriend has a very large stomach that is distended. I think it's because he eats so much junk that his gut bacteria is really effed up.

I would also really appreciate if anyone can link me a calorie restricted menu planner for someone looking to lose 20+ kgs so I can get some ideas of what to make him. I'm thinking of doing food prep Sundays as we both work and this will be the easiest way to ensure he is eating healthy meals every day.
