The background info. Male, 20, 5ft 6, SW: 219.2, CW: 214.2, GW: Around 170.
I've been trying CICO for years. In my eyes it's the only true way to lose weight. I always had an issue with how restrictive it was though - lose 2lbs a week, and I felt like I could barely eat a thing. Any small slip up, and that's me done for. Lose 1lb a week, it was more flexible but progress was so slow. It would take almost a year to get to my GW. And this was the continuous cycle I had for years. Start CICO, fail on day 3 and binge on a takeaway, wait a few weeks and start all over again.
That is until this time. I'd recently been getting back into walking - picking a random place a few miles walk away and just sticking in my headphones and going there. It's the only form of exercise I do really, I'd rather be walking for 4 hours than running for 10 minutes. And so this time I've only taken 300 calories off my BMR, and I've been walking 5 miles a day minimum and it is working fantastically. I'm barely restricted in my eating, my caloric defecit is high enough (800/900 a day on avg.) that a small craving, ordering a coffee etc. isn't going to ruin it for me. And whilst it is only day 4 and I'm still primarily losing water weight, getting through today would be the longest I've ever lasted on a diet. I really feel like this one is it.
