plateau advice: upping to maintenance for a bit vs. just staying consistent?

i've seen both of these things recommended for breaking through a plateau and wanted to hear what people thought. is it generally advised to stick with your usual deficit for a couple of weeks and if nothing changes, then consider a few days or a week at maintenance to kick start things again?

personally, i've been stuck for about 10 days and had one day at maintenance which didn't seem to change anything much. i'm going to keep being patient though, was just curious to hear some opinions on this.

bonus question: is it common for plateaus to happen when you've lost around 10% of your weight? i find that really interesting if so!
