Lost 20 pounds and reached my goal weight

I know it doesn't seen like alot but it changed the way I felt. I finally lost 20 pounds after 3 long months. I'm 5'2 and was 136 (138 ish) pounds when I started loosing. I'm now 117 and at a healthy weight again. The hard part is gonna be switching to maintaining my weight. Once I get on track and get into the habit of how much I need to exersize and how many calories I need to eat then i should be set.

Over the past few months I learned alot. I learned that salad taste amazing. I always thought healthy foods taste bad because I was used to eating junk food and fast food. Now that I've had real food for every meal I realize it taste amazing. I also learned how important exersize is and how fun is can be. I literally walk around my house all day knitting. I used to do workout videos but now I just walk because it's more fun.

On the downside there was a bit of depression that came with this 3 month journey. I felt like I wasn't working hard enough and like I wasnt ever going to make it to my goal. I now know that that isnt true at all. You will reach your goal. If you need to take break weeks were you just maintain your weight.

You just have to find stuff that works for you. The good thing is once you find it bam your set. You find your food plan and learn as you go. I had a hot dog cuz I didnt think it was that much, it ended up being like 500 calories. So next time instead of having a hot dog I'll have a sandwhich. Each day you learn what can be replaced with what and save more calories and on days when you need more calories then have those higher calories ones you swapped out.

Some of the foods I enjoy are carrots and hummus, salad (lettuce, grape tomatoes, shredded carrots, cucumbers [chicken if I'm having just a salad for a meal] light ranch dressing, and mushrooms) tuna fish sandwiches are the best, all fruits, most vegetables (I hate asparagus and green beans) plain cheerios with vanilla almond milk, unsweetened plain almond milk with flavored cereals like honey bunches of oats, frosted flakes and honey nut cheerios, and lastly oatmeal.) All of these end up around 200-350 calories per meal. You can end up adding more to each meal but I usually save 100 or 200 calories for desserts. Vanilla bean greek yogurt is the best dessert, so are oranges.
