In a nutshell, my life is all about my health. I’m in active exercise rehab with a walking disability and have been for years. My diet, exercise and medication are all tracked in journals by me. My calorie intake daily is 13-1400, my average daily burn according to my Fitbit Charge 3 is 2000 calories but workout days I can get close to 3000. I am fairly sedentary but very active in terms of rehab workouts- cardio/power walking/stationary sprints in water, DDP Yoga, TRX full body strength workouts and I can use an Elliptical and Bike slow and steady. I average 3-4 workouts a week.
I do intermittent fasting twice a week. I can’t do more physically, so I focus on diet and calorie in/out.
Used to always sit around 85-90kgs|198lbs. I have gained 21kgs|46lbs in 18 months. Having a walking disability means this is really not good for my legs; increasing stress, swelling and pain.
The only things I’ve changed is medication. I came off almost all antidepressant medication (400mg worth) in 2018, except amitriptyline but I went from 100mg to 20mg. I lost 7kg, but I went loopy mentally and realised I needed to be on something for anxiety/depression (and that’s ok). I started on Lexapro 20mg Jan 2019. I am on Norspan/buprenorphine for pain but have been for a decade.
It must be the Lexapro right? It’s been a gradual gain since I started it (I lost a little at first) but it’s not an option to go off it. I’ve been on amitriptyline (the worst for gain) for 12 years and I’ve been managed to be much lighter than this.
How can I lose/shift this weight? What am I doing wrong? Can I even shift it do I just accept it? I can’t do hard cardio with my legs, so I can’t sweat until I burn off everything I eat and I can’t exactly only eat 500 cals a day. Are the reports about sodium and potassium being the problem true or has that worked for you? HELP!
