To anyone who menstruates...Download a period tracker for water weight.

I cannot recommend this enough.

I have tried and failed to lose weight since I was a teenager. I've found that what causes me to give up is when I don't see results. I fear the diet isn't working, so I start doubting myself and I self sabotage. I I would gain anywhere from 2-10 lbs of water weight each month...and I have come to realize that it wasn't because I wasn't counting calories wrong... it was because I was menstruating.

So I started CICO 37 days ago. I'm 11.4 lbs down. On top of getting back into plugging my calories on Lose It, I also downloaded a period tracker app (Flo.) It has helped me tremendously. When I saw my weight go up 2 lbs this week, I didn't give up on counting because I know I am soon due for a period.

It has honestly helped my mentality so much because instead of worrying that is isn't working, I can know that when my weight is fluctuating a lot, it's probably just water weight.
