Finally figured out I have a problem and now I’m not sure how to address it and keep losing weight.

So, to sum it up I have a very bad problem of restriction and then binging of foods. Not sure if this has an official name but...yeah. It was very enlightening to finally acknowledge that I do this.

This usually happens on the weekend because I restrict myself from any ‘unhealthy’ foods that I like during the week to the point of feeling emotionally drained and just wanting some comfort food. Then I feel so guilty and weak for indulging and start the vicious cycle all over again. I realised this has been going on since I was pretty much 15 and began trying to lose weight. Obviously I haven’t been successful since it’s been nearly 10 years since I’ve been below 200lbs.

I recognise that this is a really unhealthy relationship with food and I’m not even sure how to begin addressing it while also still losing weight. Has anyone else dealt with this? If there are better suited subreddits for this please let me know. I know I probably need to see a dietician or something but I’ve been laid off so for the time being I need to try and address this on my own.

If anyone else has had this kind of relationship with food, I just wanted to let you know you’re not alone. ❤️
