Anyone who has never been skinny their whole life and managed to lose it?

It's hard to find any experiences from those who have been fat or in my case, overweight their whole life who managed to lose and maintain their weight. Most transformation story are from those who gained weight after pregnancy or teenagehood etc but in one way or another they all started as 'skinny'. I am 'big' since I can remember and my whole life was about dieting. I've managed to maintain my weight for 12 years since I was 13 with differences being between +/- 6kg so I have bounced from being an obese child to an overweight/borderline obese adult. But my BMI was never in the normal category and I'm finding it so hard to lose more.
