Trying To Lose Fat And Get Fit

So Im a 21yo (22 in 2 months,) 5'0", 150lbs (28%BF, puts me at overweight bordering obese,) Female. My husband is about to go on tour for a few years, so we decided its a perfect time to have a kid. I want to lose visceral fat, I don't care much about the number on the scale more so measurements. I suffer from ednos/ofsed(not sure if that means much to anyone but I thought maybe it could help to know) but I've been doing good and eating between 1200 to 1600 cals. (Less when sedentary, more when active.) I get 5k steps in a day since Im a stay at home and I exercise at home. I eat lean meats, low simple carb, average veggie and fruit carbs, higher fat. (Cutting I think? But not Keto)

Is there something I'm doing wrong? I haven't lost any body fat in 3 months. Since I've been hypoglycemic since I was born I and my doctor agree that I will cut my chances of gestational diabetes if I lose weight. Maybe I'm being impatient but I feel like there should've been some change since October.

Sorry in advance if this is weirdly worded or wrong in some way. This is my first ever post using reddit (long time lurker, new to acc,) thank you for your time even if it was just to read! ^
