Starting My Journey 01/10/20 - Need Some Advice

Hey all! So, today marks the day I officially begin my journey to lose weight. I have talked about it many times before and contemplated on starting, but I never had the courage to change my eating habits. My goal was solidified after my fiancee and I put down the money on our wedding venue. The strive to better myself has never hit me that hard before! It is going to be a rough, ROUGH path, but I am ready to face my demons. My number one goal is to look better and feel better for my fiancee, my family, and above all, myself.

Currently, I am 6'3" 270lbs. I really noticed my weight skyrocket when I started my job as an emergency dispatcher on night shift. It is a 12 hour shift, 6pm-6am. Naturally, there is a stigma around dispatchers being overweight. Alot of us live a sedentary lifestyle and have poor eating habits, especially being on night shift. We typically have to get fast food when we get the chance to grab something to eat and have to snack on things from a 24hr gas station in town since everything pretty much closes at 11pm. Changing what I bring to work is an easy fix, however, having that junk food around me all the time is going to be difficult. Some nights, we will have absolutely nothing going on and that urge to "boredom eat" kicks in. I recently got a membership at Planet Fitness to try and fight against being sedentary all the time. Does anyone have any tips on how to combat the night shift, sedentary lifestyle? Thank you all in advance! Wish me luck!
