No breakfast vs. breakfast - Is there a consensus on what is better?

So, I've been wondering about this since a couple years now. I don't eat breakfast anymore since I'm ~12, because I just don't like it and feel sick when eating early in the morning. So I've been doing intermittent fasting since 10 years most days, without trying. Atm I eat my first meal at 1 pm and the last at 6 or 7 pm. I've heard all my life that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and that it kickstarts your metabolism. Now that intermittent fasting is a trend, I hear the opposite - that your body is doing better when having this "starving period".

I only find contradicting articles on this topic and I wonder if anyone found an article that can scientifically explain what is better. Basically I'm just wondering if I should force myself to eat breakfast - because I will only do this if it's really better for you (especially while trying to lose weight). Imo, it's only important how many calories you take in and how many you burn and not *when* you take them in. But I'm still wondering about this metabolism thing.

Also, do you guys eat breakfast or not? Why or why not?
