Need advice on how to binge less

So I’m hoping this is the right subreddit to ask. But basically I’ve been wanting to lose weight. I’m 19 M turning 20 next month, 5’9 and I weigh 230 pounds. The main issue I’m having is that throughout the day I just keep binging and I never feel full. I could eat lunch and still feel hungry, so I’ll start munching on things like chips, sweets, or cereal before dinner. Then eat dinner and munch even more, I know it’s terrible and I sometimes try my hardest but I feel like I just can’t help it cause I never feel full. I’ve heard that drinking lots of water helps and I’m trying that. I try my best to drink around 1 gallon of water a day but unfortunately I still continue to eat a lot throughout the day. So I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on what I could do to feel more full, or at least a way to fight the urge to eat so much. Also side note: this is kinda irrelevant to the post but I’ve also been wanting to sign up for the gym but I don’t wanna go alone cause I feel really shy and anxious, and none of my friends or family wanna sign up with me. So does anyone also have any advice on overcoming my fears on that? ;~;
