How to stop intraday snacking

Sorry for the rather generic title in advance.

Anyone know of a way to phase out snacking during the day? Basically when I went to college I was 5'9.5 (still am... I think) and weighed 140lbs. Had a hard time gaining through just 3 meals a day so got into the habit of snacking. And after two years I was a happy 155lbs, decent muscle, some fat but was happy. But seriously struggle to stop the habit. Now that I left college I'm in a very sedentary job and snack even more to the point I'm around 195lbs.

Anyone have experience with this and/or tips on how to phase it out? Stopping cold turkey has worked for like a week before the habit goes in full force. Like I'm not even hungry, it's just second nature that I should be chewing something or eating as a secondary action to work. Outside of work I do go gym 3-5 times a week, mostly lift and try do some cardio to get myself back into the swing of things.
