Does losing weight, specifically fat, make you look taller and/or more muscular.

I don't know if this question has been over answered. I am a senior in high school who just turned 18 and I am a 6 ft 0 in male . There were two people that haven't seen me in over a year and I just saw them last month. I've lost 30 pounds (209 pounds to 179 pounds), which is about 14.35% of my body weight. One of them said I look and great and "more muscular." Another person thought I got taller. So as the title says, would I "look" taller or more muscular?

Some say you would look taller because of the proportion of height to waist length or that you will have better posture because of this. Others say you would look shorter because of the lost weight.

In terms of muscularity, how would I look more muscular? I didn't do much strength training so I don't think I gained any muscle mass.
