Weight Loss for Everyone: Would the median between BMR and TDEE be a good number to make your calories?

Would the median between BMR and TDEE be a good number to make your calories?

For example, if my bmr is 1700 and my tdee is 3000, would a good amount to eat be 2350? or would it be too low/too high?another example with more similar numbers, bmr 1800 and tdee 2300- would a good amount to eat be 2050?

My idea is obviously you have to eat above your BMR to be healthy, and you have to eat below TDEE to lose weight. so surely the middle is good? But the deficit would be so different depending on your exercise (in the bigger example, youre in almost a 700 deficit, while the smaller example youre only in 250) so im wondering if it would still be healthy / effective? or if it would be too drastic of a deficit if youre exercising(for big ex) or too small for sedentary(for small ex)

Im just wondering if this would be a good way to do it, or if just sticking to a '-500 from tdee' is better.

if i use my median method, loseit tells me i wont lose weight very fast(about 1/2 lbs a week). but if i use -500 method, loseit tells me its 'dangerously low' and that feels bad.. So which should i do?

(fake numbers for example)
