Hi everyone! I’m (21F, 5’3” SW:173 CW:165 GW:135) new here and have been trying to lose a little weight for a long time. Hoping the community support will be helpful to me, and this is a very good sub (love the positivity and rationality here).
I’ve always done some kind of calorie or carb counting, but what I’m doing differently this attempt is eliminating sweets during the weekdays. They are a major weak point of mine, and I did good with lowered calories the first week I let go of them. But now a new tripping point has arrived.
I do very well with my calories during the day. I say no to myself, I consider long term goals, etc.
BUT when evening comes and I make dinner for my family…I lose myself lol. I usually eat more than planned to in the evening and wind up at maintenance or above. It’s very disheartening especially after trying all day to keep my calories under control.
I do work full time, go to school part time, and am responsible for making dinner for my household (this is good bc I get to cook healthier foods). So sometimes it feels like I’m so tired by the end of the day I don’t care anymore. Or it could be hormonal/emotional. A combination? I don’t know.
Any advice is kindly appreciated! I have tried many different diets methods like IF and keto, but am willing to re-see them and any methods that might help.
