So I started lifting weights and a caloric deficit of 500 calories two weeks ago (made sure to eat lots of protein) but didn’t do any cardio. I lifted almost every day except for weekends and made sure I didn’t go over my deficit except for Friday’s because that’s when I relax a little and only eat a little bit over my maintenance. But when I checked the scales at the end of week two, I had gone up by 2 Kgs. I don’t check the scales everyday because I know that weight can fluctuate but two weeks is a long interval with no progress. My main goal is to lose weight and I saw on some other Posts that you don’t need cardio to lose weight only a caloric deficit which makes sense but goes against everything I have been told before like “you need a diet AND exercise to lose weight” I have been taking creatine and I know that that can cause some water weight gain but two Kgs seems a bit two high. I just want to go into this confidently knowing that I will make progress without cardio and following a caloric deficit and not to find out weeks after wasting time and to find out that I actually DO need cardio to lose weight. And there haven’t been any visual improvements either that I can go off of. Any help is very much appreciated.
