Halfway there and I just want to share what is working for me and my feelings

M29 5'10" 250>215

Not my first rodeo, I went from 270>180 before. I held 180-200 for less than a year probably and went right back up.

My first time around I used CICO and counted everything. It obviously worked and I really liked that I didn't have to question if it would or not. I just knew it would.

This time I'm doing intuitive eating of whole foods only. I have a few snacks and meals I make consistently that are great like cottage cheese topped with seeds, simple proteins with seasoning but no added oils or sauces, and I've been absolutely slamming watermelon 🍉 (going through a couple melons a week). It's a little riskier but it feels like the lifestyle change people talk about. I could keep this up easily forever unlike measuring my food.

I feel an increased sense of confidence and I know I look better overall but I also am kind of struggling because I know I am so far away. My workout life is not very present. Honestly, my main focus is to be attractive and have a good dating life. I still get mostly 0 matches on any dating app and I'm still aware that most people I find cute are out of my league. It's not a cool thing to talk about but I'm sure everyone here can understand the feeling. I truly am very confident about being a person and I speak in front of groups often. I just don't have dating confidence in the slightest. I could go speak in front of 50 people and introduce myself to a stranger no problem but I have no confidence in asking for a number because of my body. I am so ready to have that be gone and find love. The number on the scale doesn't matter I just want to look good and know that someone else would think I look good too.
