I recently had allergy testing redone bc I’ve had anaphylaxis before and wanted to see if I was still deathly allergic to bees. Anyway, when they tested me for everything these foods came up -dairy, eggs, wheat, soy and yeast
Before I reached my biggest weight I was anorexic, ended up in hospital at 17 because of the damage I had done to my heart. I didn’t have any support when I left the hospital about what ED recovery looked like and I ended up with a binge eating disorder.
I got gastric sleeve surgery and worked really hard in therapy which helped me repair my relationship with food and my body. So now with my limited stomach space, I choose to eat food that makes me feel good but if I choose to have a treat it doesn’t trigger a binge/purge cycle anymore bc I know realistically I cannot physically eat a ridiculous amount of calories in a sitting.
Turns out that every day I’ve been having allergic reactions to the food I eat. I would like to try and limit my exposure to these foods where possible but the idea of having so many food groups cut out makes me anxious about falling into old anorexia habits. I struggle as it is to eat my maintenance calories.
I guess I’m trying to weigh up if it’s worth the risk to try and see if my health improves from limiting these foods out?
