A theory as to why so many people develop arrogant and cold, shallow attitudes after losing substantial weight/becoming conventionally attractive?

I think it's because people are so used to being treated like shit or like average when they have an average body type or fat. Then when they lose an extreme amount of body fat and become more or less conventionally attractive by society's standards, they notice how much of a difference changing your external appearance has on other people's reaction and reception towards you. Therefore they come to believe that most people are shallow and superficial to only focus on what they see on the outside that they feel they don't deserve respect or kindness. And hence come off as arrogant or cold. I can't speak for everyone but this is exactly what happened to me when I went from 217 pounds to 161. People treated me differently because I looked different, so I treated them shitty because I thought they were shallow for doing so.
