Upset over weight gain

I’ve been trying to lose weight (seriously) for 2 weeks. I’m upset at how slow it is, and how quickly I seem to go backwards.

My BMI is around 27.5, and I need to lose 10kg / 22lbs

Saturday I had a cheat lunch (at my moms). I need this one meal off each week, but I tried to portion control. There was dessert. I logged everything, and I came out 500kcal higher than my budget kcals (1900 vs 1400).

Then sunday I weighted myself, I was 0.2 kg heavier (0.5 lbs). I thought that was ok, Ill be better tomorrow.

Sunday I was very careful with food, and I took a big hike up a mountain with my family (22k steps vs my usual 10k). At night my muscles were sore and I was happy

This morning I weighted myself with big expectations, and I went up! 0.5kg heavier than sunday!

I dont undertand and its making me so upset!

Any advice? Do I need to give up eating dessert once a week?
