Is it normal to get numbness in your feet when going for brisk(ish) walks?

I’ve been going on 45-60 minute walks about 3-4 times a week for a month now. I was previously wearing trainers that were cheap and bad quality, and about 15 mins into the walk I’d feel soreness or numbness in one or both feet. No probs, I went out and bought a good quality pair of shoes to wear instead, thinking that would fix it.

The first couple of walks in the new shoes went well. Hardly noticed any issues. Today, probably my fourth or fifth walk in the new shoes, the soles of both my feet started feeling numb/tingly about 20 mins into the walk.

Is this normal?

I’m wearing decent socks that are medium thickness, not too thin and not so thick as to make my shoes too tight. I walk on concrete footpaths. If I walk on the grassy nature strips the tingling isn’t as bad, but my area is so hilly that the nature strips are rather sloped and if I walk on the uneven ground for too long it causes other issues like a sore hip or ankle.

Am I just really out of shape? Does anyone else have this issue? I just wanna know if it will eventually go away, cause it’s annoying and makes exercise far less enjoyable.
