Help me figure out what I’m doing wrong. Scale didn’t move this week.

Started at 416. Weighing once per week. Every day calories have been between 1600-1800 max. No cheating.

First weeks loss went to 408. I realize that’s unrealistic to expect every week. Next week was 404.6. Probably more realistic for my starting weight. This week 404.3. Now I had told myself the high numbers wouldn’t continue but I figured I’d at least have dropped a couple pounds.

I understand from reading here a lot of people say some weeks you don’t lose on the scale but I figured that would be the case further along, not with me still being in the 400 range. I figured it would be melting off at this point.

My wife says I’ve cut too much and my body is in starvation mode. Even though MFP says I have much more calories to eat I dont feel I’m starving myself as I’ve heard of doctors recommending 1500 calorie diets before and I’ve seen people on here mention deficits similar to mine.

Really just looking for someone to tell me this is normal or at least what I am doing wrong. To keep me encouraged.

Thanks guys.
