I've been discussing some of my issues with food with a therapist, and in particular my fear that I'll never really beat my "addiction" and that my entire life is going to have to revolve around food because I have to be so mindful about what/how much I eat.
She recommended intuitive eating as an end goal, which immediately set off some alarms in my head because I guess I've always associated the idea of intuitive eating with scam diets and such. She wants me to start with some guided meditation exercises while I eat and just generally being more in tune with my body while eating, which I think may help just because I have a tendency to eat very quickly. But I'm still not sold on the idea and I'm worried it'll cause a relapse.
Has anybody else managed to successfully intuitively eat after struggling with weight gain? Is it a pipe dream?
