On the occasions I'm struggling with my weight I tend to turn to motivational material online be it transformations photos or fitness IGs.
I keep running across IG accounts centered on how "horrible" dieting is. How 'diet culture' causes binge eating and really all you need to do is "listen to your body" and intuitively eat.
That's a pipe dream.
Listening to my body means hearing "eat, you're bored." "Eat, you're sad" "eat, you're hungry" "eat, you're happy".
I think it's an actual skill to understand your real hunger cues and seeing these "influencers" suggest to just "eat when you are hungry" is a dangerous game for many of us.
Part of me truly believes IE isn't really possible for everyone 🤷🏻♀️
That's it. That's the rant.
Edit: Don't give me advice on how to lose weight. I've done it many times before. I know what works and what doesn't.
