My girlfriend is really unhappy with her weight. She's an actress and always complains to me about how her weight is limiting her casting opportunities. She gets really upset and cries often about it.
Recently she got cast in a video for a youtube channel, it got 400k views in 3 days and of course there were a few mean comments (hey, that's how the internet works) - she's focusing on 2 comments that are calling her fat rather than the 100 calling her a great beautiful actress.
BUT, I have tried to suggest CICO and My Fitness Pal to her, she tells me that CICO is bullshit and that MFP has given her friends eating disorders so she refuses to try it.
She will go hard and starve herself on nothing but salads for a week and then lapse and binge, it's just a loop.
Today she asked if I could get us ice creams, I said "I want to help you achieve your goals, remember what you've been complaining about for the last week" and she started crying again and said I was meant to be on her side.
I'm just at a loss of what to do - she won't listen to me about CICO or try MFP, and starving yourself on salads is not sustainable and always leads to a binge without fail. Does anyone have any advice for how I can help? Or is this a lost cause?
