Question! Calorie Intake and Calories Burned

This may be a silly question but what better way than to ask you guys!

I am using MyFitnessPal and I pre log my meals the night before so that I don’t go over my calorie intake of 1200.

I tend to burn up to 700 calories a day with my home workouts, walks and runs.

My question is ... is it ok to eat over the 1200 calories if I burned that 700?

For example: my goal is to eat 1200 calories but I ate 1500 that day. I exercised 700. It says I have a remaining 400 calories.

1200 (goal) - 1500 (food) + 700 (excercise) = 400 remaining

Can I still lose weight doing that? Or should I only be eating 1200 no matter what?

I’m a noob.
