I’m 37F, 5’4”, 240. :/
I gained 70lb while pregnant with twins. I had a pretty traumatic childbirth at 33 weeks, and my kids spent a lot of time in the NICU and have several disabilities as a result. Long story short: I fell apart. I didn’t lose any weight. Well, I mean I did. I lost 20lb right away, but I gained most of it back. I’m finally ready to let go of this trauma weight. I didn’t realize how it crept on and stayed until I messed up my knee pretty badly about a month ago. I’m ready to change my lifestyle. I don’t want to die of a heart attack in the next few years.
I’m going to consume 1621cal daily, tracking with MFP, and incorporate some weight lifting and cardio. That should put me at a 500 calorie deficit daily. I’d like to lose 1-2lb weekly.
Please, if you have any advice for someone like me, please don’t hesitate. I’m scared, mostly because I’m very bad at taking care of myself. I’m very good at putting everyone else first. I am working to build a better toolbox to care for myself. Thank you all so much.
