Hello everyone. As the title states I am a 5’ 10”, 250lb 32 year old male who is looking for any advice/guidance on preparing for the Air National Guard.
Pre-Covid I was around 285lbs and was lucky enough to get a physical labor job that helped me get down to 228. Unfortunately, like many others across the US and world I was lost my job and and lost close friends and family to covid.
Due to these life changes I packed on 20 pounds by falling into bad habits. I’m live alone, no real friends anymore it’s just me. I’m trying to get back on track and regain my confidence and determination but I’m struggling. If anyone has any advice I would truly appreciate it!
My goal weight is currently 180 which will help me meet the enlistment standard. I have cut out sweets/soda, and am drinking only water. My appetite is all over the place as are my sleeping habits but I am getting better. I am walking regularly again now that the weather is better, and I am using My Fitness Pal to make sure I am not going over 1500 calories a day. I’m doing modified body weight exercises as well. Some are very difficult due to my current weight.
Sorry for the wall of text. Still new to Reddit. Best to all of you!
