Phantom Weight Gain? It might be COVID-19 related stress

I'll keep it short and simple:

  • The COVID-19 situation makes you stressed (e.g. job security, hours, money, health, toilet paper, poor governance, etc).
  • Stress results in inflammation (Source #1, Source #2).
  • Inflammation stores a high amount of water.
  • Thus if you've been seeing phantom weight gain in the last few weeks, it might be stress induced.

My overarching point is, just stick to your game plan. You're still losing fat even if your scales aren't showcasing that.
