I’m an introvert.
As you could probably tell, I’m not very active.
But when my siblings have gone to sleep, Ive been secretly going downstairs in the little room to do my Wii Fit U routines, burning about 100 calories in 30 minutes.
I’ve been at this for about a month now, and my once stiff joints feel like elastic! I think Wii Fit is the perfect way for homebody introverts like myself to become more active without having to leave the house. For the first time, I’ve been looking forward to exercising!
If that doesn’t sell you:
-
the Wii Balance Board and game are very cheap nowadays since they are older releases (I got mine cheap from a Re-Store that sells various used goods)
-
The Wii U version comes with a pocket-pedometer that you sync with the game to get bonus points in-game (Wii U ver)
-
the pedometer not only counts your steps, but also your calories and helps set a daily goal (I’m working to average 600 cals a day, I’m at 300) (Wii U ver)
-
I’ve always thought the gym was boring and miserable! But each game is fun and stylized to keep the experience feeling fresh and new!
-
after each game (workout), they make you choose between two exercises that compliment the one you did by “advertising” their benefits (you could do THIS workout for a better arms/core/posture, or THAT workout to sculpt your figure/core/thighs!) Your brain is already roped in to making a choice that you don’t realize you’ve been convinced to keep going, and is as enticing as choosing between ice cream flavors! I found myself thinking, “can’t I have them both?” without realizing that I would be tired or sore. A positive psychology trick! (Both ver?)
-
the attitude isn’t “get swole and sore”, but is very positive and friendly! The constant interactive feedback is something workout tapes WISH they had! “Do your best!” “You have great posture!”, “You’re a little shaky...”, “Keep at it every day to get better!”, “If you practice, you will improve!” (Both ver.)
-
The balance board weighs you everyday and calculates your BMI, progress, and body coordination. I’ve been keeping up every day! (Both ver.)
-
The pedometer has a Distance and Altitude challenge! Walk everyday to progress! How long would it take you to climb Mount Everest or walk the Tour de France? (Wii U ver)
-
there always seems to be a new game to try every day (oh, I’m sorry, “workout”) (both ver.)
-
there are rhythm and dance games to help with body coordination. I thought they looked kinda lame at first, but I broke a sweat by the end! (Wii U ver.)
-
Friggin. Advanced Step. Game.
-
The workouts are in categories: Yoga, Strength, Cardio, Dance (Wii U), Balance. You could go to “My Routines” and create a combination that is the right amount of time/calories for you!
-
if you want a routine that’s more specific, there are pre-made routines that fit your needs! Categories include but are not limited to: “Posture”, “Binged”, “Calorie Torcher”, “Figure”, “Strength”, etc. (Wii U ver)
-
no feeling like you’re being judged, is just a robot/video game. The only person you have to become better than is your last high score!
There is SO MUCH that I even covered, but i really recommend it! Has anyone else tried it? Maybe benefited by some at-home routines? How do you guys make fitness fun?
