Lacking motivation and mental illness

I have lost 36lbs since January 1st which I am happy about, but since going on a newer medication (Latuda) and increasing my dose of my previous medicine (Lamictal), I have been depressed to say the least. These apparently are normal, temporarily symptoms of the medications while they are getting into my system. That being said... I have really felt zero motivation at all. How do you guys deal with mental illness or lack of motivation? I am working on developing different coping mechanisms because I would turn to food as a coping mechanism in the past.

Thanks to every supportive soul for this sub! Your posts and comments make me feel not so alone.
