I (F26) was always slim as a kid and a young adult because even though I've always been a boredom-binger, I also got a ton of exercise. Parents always had me outside, I walked to and from school, always moving.
Sometime in college, though, I started developing symptoms of nonallergic rhinitis. It's a condition where exercise triggers symptoms similar to upper respiratory nasal allergies. And it's only gotten worse as I've aged. I love walking, but it takes barely anything now before I have to mouth-breath aggressively just to get enough air and my nose runs like crazy. It's horrifying and embarrassing. And it's not just walking--every cardio activity I've tried induces this in minutes.
As a result, I've gained a significant amount of weight and I hate it. I acknowledge that part it has to do with my crap eating habits, but I know that not getting exercise is making it worse. Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions for exercise that may not trigger it?
