Seeking discipline tips

So I (26F, 180ish lbs) am getting married in 123 days.

When we got engaged last April, I was thrilled that Covid meant we’d be engaged for over a year and I’d have plenty of time to lose weight for my wedding. Over the course of the last 10 months though, I’ve actually gotten in worse shape. I lost my job, spent a lot of time stress bingeing, got less active, I know I’m not alone in that.

I downloaded a workout app and started doing a little better with eating and everything until I got Covid in November. I ended up sick for 34 days and had to isolate in my bedroom to keep my fiancé from getting sick. I obviously couldn’t exercise at all and gained several pounds back from worse stress eating and doing nothing for a month.

I was dealing with some lingering effects into January, which made exercise and just generally giving a shit difficult. Now here I am, middle of February, having lost only 7 lbs in almost a year. My wedding is 4 months away and I’m hoping I can at least lose 15-20 lbs between now and then.

I recently started weight lifting again because I know it’s something I enjoy enough to stay consistent with and want some good shaping benefits. I already go for 2 mile walks every day, on top of an active job. The program I’m doing suggests 3x per week lifting weights and 3x per week doing cardio (which I don’t love but am finding some more “fun” options).

The thing I struggle most with is food. I overeat, binge, easily succumb to cravings and just generally have zero willpower with food. I also don’t have the discipline that I should with exercise considering how quickly I need results.

What are the things that have helped you maintain discipline with your goals? What tips can you supply to help get and keep me on track?

Due to personal reasons things I cannot do are:

  • intermittent fasting, I had an ED in my youth and I know it’s triggering for me

  • anything to do with caffeine (allergic) or nicotine (highly sensitive)
