Hi all! I haven’t posted to this sub before. But I need advice.
My partner is 450 lbs and he asked me to manage a diet for him. We chose a daily calorie target for him of 2,000, after research showed us his TDEE is probably around 3,600. We are eating a healthy Mediteranean-style diet.
I have up to now been cooking him a 600-calorie lunch, a 600-calorie dinner, and 800 calories in healthy snacks over the course of the day. He is staunchly anti-breakfast.
But he just told me he won’t eat snacks anymore. He refuses. He says the snacks “just make me hungrier.”
He’s okay with only eating 1,200 calories a day (the two 600-calorie meals I cook him), but I am NOT okay with him eating that little.
This means I have to make him 1,000-calorie meals. This is so daunting and hard for me, because I am a small woman—1,000 calories is most of what I eat in an entire day. I have NO idea how to make our healthy, veggie-heavy meals so intensely calorific for him.
So I am looking for advice. How do I solve this problem?
