Introduction and one question

Hello fellow losers!

I have been lurking on r/loseit for a couple years now. Over the past few years i have been saying i will make this year MY year, but due to personal issues and work from home last year that has not been the case. But this year i have made a start! In januari i only focused on getting exercise into my daily routine withouth changing my eating pattern (i have never been someone that was a big fan of exercise and even tried avoiding it as much as i could) and 9 days ago i started with CICO! I have also made the decision to get in contact with a personal trainer and lifestyle coach to help me make further healthy choices and also to keep my motivation up.

During the month januari i did not lose (alot) of weight, started at 121kg and ended at 120.7kg. But in the last 9 days i dropped to 117.8 kg (down 3kg or 6~7 lbs). which is also where my question comes in. Is it normal to lose that much in the first few days/weeks with CICO? i expected to maybe have lost 1kg in the first week.

Some extra information: I'm Male, 33 years old and 1,92m (6'3"). I weigh myself in the morning before breakfast but after i have gone to the bathroom (trying to keep the conditions the same when i weigh). After calculating my calories it said that i needed around 2.5k to maintain, i have been eating around 1.7~1.9k for the last 9 days (and not getting hungry inbetween). For my exercise i have only been doing cardio 7 out of those 9 days, either walking with a friend for 1 hour or 30 min on my hometrainer (bike).

You guys have been a real inspiration for me to start this year! Hope to keep my motivation up and eventualy reach my goals!
