Good day wonderful Reddit people! 😀
39(complicated*) 6’6” Starting 400, current 377, goal 250ish, on plan 41 days, 23 pounds down.
My weight loss has been CICO with mild activity only, going back to work (teacher) in a week. My loss follows the standard characteristic trends, down 1 to 1.5 pounds, then up a few days, then down again, rinse and repeat, negative overall trend.
I don’t watch macros or do anything special other than eat my 2000 to 2400 calories per day, normally around 1900 - 2100. (TDE 3200 - 3400)
Here is the question… I normally eat a pretty normal schedule, small breakfast with coffee (400 - 500 calories), a reasonable lunch (500 - 600 calories), and a larger dinner (1000 calories). Every once in a while I have a day where I end up eating one huge meal + breakfast, normally a work lunch in or family meal, around 1200 - 1500 calories. When this happens I stay in my calorie goal but I am not hungry for 12 - 18 hours or more. I also notice that I tend to go up 0.2 or so pounds the day after.
Is eating this way once to twice a week going the effect my diet / weight loss plan? Based on my current results (conservative CICO model, not tracking macros) it seems fine but I don’t want to set my self up for problems in this process.
Edit: It sounds like I am doing a 16:8 fasting plan without knowing it!
*I am intersex (male leaning bone structure, female cat patterns) with Kallmann’s syndrome, XXY. My hormone levels are non-existing (I have to take 3 meds each day). I have always considered myself non-binary, and the doctors in many studies have said my metabolism is right in the middle of M and F.
Yes I have been studies extensively, with doctors not really knowing my sexual gender at birth for a while.
