What helped me to lose fat

So, I[25M] had gained a little in the winter months. Was having junk food. I was prioritising ease of availability and convenience and taste over nutrition and health. Also, I had lost any reason to continue with my pushups/chinups regime. I have been playing football(soccer) since a year, so it's never like I became too obese. But eating right is as important as exercise. And the cardio I get in sports is not enough, some strength training is required too. Also, i'm not a fan of gyms, so i've never gone to one. Working out in natural environment works best.

But then I met an amazing woman online in February. Falling in love shortly after. Unfortunately, the relationship didn't work out due to incompatibilities, changes in what she wanted and misunderstandings and she left me in April. It was only text chat, we never met.

But it had a deep impact on me, and changed me as a person, mostly for the better, although left me temporarily broken. I had started reading nutrition books, learned new abs(core) exercises, made a complete change in my diet. Lockdown struck, and I could no longer play soccer. But I regularly maintained my exercise schedule in whatever little space I got. I also started taking multivitamin supplements and protein powder. I quit tea and reduced sugar intake.

It takes time for results to show. Belly and face fat is the most persistent area. Have perseverance, eventually, your efforts will be observable. I continued my newly developed good habits even after the heartbreak, and now my skin looks much younger , hair much better, I feel more vitality in me and my physique looks ideal. Also, having a football group really helps me.

So, in a nutshell, all these things help

1) motivation to lose fat 2) knowledge about nutrition and exercises 3) availability of fitness groups, sports platforms 4) an LDR love, where u have expectation to meet someday and present your best body to your partner 5) resources to buy high quality nutritious food 6) a positive tranquil state of mind

So, it's a myth that losing fat is only based on will-power, self-control and excessively working out. It's not that hard with an intelligent approach, so please don't use unnatural methods to get quick results. And i'm not any qualified professional, but still i'll be happy to answer any queries, whether in DM's or comments.
