I have been trying to lose weight for about 1 1/2 years now and I don't know what to do. I know about nutrition and exercise and all that stuff, I know what I should be doing but I just can't stick to it. I started with calorie counting and that didn't work, then I went on to portion control and that didn't work. Since school started today I thought my binge eating would be under control because I would be busy during the whole day and would only be allowed to eat the food that I packed. I did great during the day but my mom stopped by a store and let me have a chocolate bar and it all went downhill from there. I should note that this is a very rare occurrence, she's not big on junk food or anything and I would attribute my weight gain to bingeing on healthy food rather than unhealthy food. Anyways after that she made plantains and my sisters got popcorn and pringles from the store. I just completely binged on those and washed it down with two glasses of juice.
I've done so much research on how much I should exercise and eat to lose weight. I am on a track team and train for 4:30 hours every week and we do intense cardio. My mother and I just finished the Chloe Ting Hourglass challenge yesterday. This is just to show that I am an active teen but I just cant get my diet in check. Last weekend we went grocery shopping and bought 90% healthy food since I asked for it, but I still binged on the goldfish crackers my mom bought for my 5 year old sister. I thought I had binge eating disorder and I told my mom. She brought me to a psychiatrist who said that I didn't and that I was suffering from transitional anxiety because of Covid. I believed her, but now that school has started, I still binge when I get home. I really want to lose these 30 pounds to be a healthier, faster, and more confident person but I'm really struggling.
If anyone has any advice please let me know,
Thank you!
