- To know that I have done what I kept saying I would do
- So people don’t think I have unresolved mental issues
- To use healthy coping mechanisms instead of food
- To feel my feelings rather than silencing them with food
- To be able to cross my legs
- To reduce my blood pressure
- To reduce risk of diabetes
- To feel successful
- To be more confident in taking photos
- To not worry about weighing too much for activities
- To look forward to events rather than the food associated with the event
- To find new ways of feeling joy
- To have better cardiovascular fitness
- To have my hormones in balance
- To not be embarrassed eating in public
- To make plane trips more comfortable
- To use less petrol when I drive myself places
- To not cause sagging in furniture
- To be able to borrow clothes from friends
- To fit into clothes at costume hire places

- So I can get up and down from the floor easier
- To be able to sit on my chair at the office with my legs folded
- So I have more lap for my cat to sit on
- So my child can put her arms all the way around me when hugging me
- So I don’t need extra paramedics if I’m in an accident
- So my weight isn’t a consideration when giving me medical treatment
- So a normal sized towel fits me
- So I can fit nicely in the bath
- To not be part of a statistic
- So I don’t sweat as much
- So it’s easier to tie my shoelaces
- To have after photos rather than a succession of before photos where I get steadily fatter
- To fit rings
- To not worry about keeping up with slimmer friends on outings
- To be able to talk about health with clients without feeling like a fraud
- To be at a point where I can then focus on getting fitter rather than losing weight for once
- To have a waist again
- So I can fit more clothes in my drawers/suitcases/loads of laundry
- To not worry about weight limits for activities
- To fit into rides at amusement parks
- To not feel self-conscious getting a massage
- So I sleep better
- So my feet don’t hurt at the end of the day
- So shopping is fun again
