I am in the market for a new smartwatch/wearable, with the main goal of helping me lose weight. I'd like to be able to:
- Easily track how many calories I get from food. An important factor here is the ease of use – it'd be great to be able to predefine certain meals that I could quickly register directly on the watch (2-3 taps would be great). Also, I would find it very useful to be able to see the calorie consumption progress throughout the day – directly on the watch face every time I look at it.
- Track workouts. I run, rollerblade and do calisthenics/dumbbells. I am mainly interested in tracking calories spent for each workout.
- An additional thing which maybe would be useful, is some kind of a running program/coach that would track my results and suggest different workouts (HIIT, constant pace, etc. etc.) based on goals, weekday, previous workout, etc. This one is of a lower priority for me.
I have an iPhone, so an Apple Watch would be the most natural choice I guess (especially after the SE announcement yesterday). But, does the Apple Watch have good apps and watchface complications designed specifically for calorie tracking?
I'd be happy to hear your recommendations for any non-Apple wearables as well.
