Trouble mentally adapting to new size 29F 6'0" SW:215 CW:168 GW:160

I've gone from size 10 to size 6 and wasted so many items of clothing along the way. I KNOW I fit the smaller clothes I buy, but I leave them in my closet out of fear I can't fit them then in a few more weeks/months they're too big. Which is RIDICULOUS because I tried them on when I got them. I'm starting to get pissed with myself for doing this. I bought a lot of new clothes back in July, some are too big now and I didn't wear them.

Let alone the clothes I had from previously being a size 8. I didn't think I'd fit them, so never tried them on. Try them on and it's TOO LATE.

How do you get better at this???? On the one hand I feel like this is *humble brag* territory, but I actually feel like I have something going on mentally. I can totally see the changes in my body and I love the way I feel. But for some reason clothing just messes me up.
