Rise in blood pressure?

I am so sorry for the long explanation and apologize for any spelling/grammar/formatting issues; BUT my blood pressure has risen significantly.

Some background: I have always had a low blood pressure. I always get eyebrow raises at doctor appointments followed by comments such as “wow, you have great blood pressure!” leaving out the implied “for your weight” considering my low blood pressure it not all that great (and my much lighter sister who used to be with me in many appointments when were children never had hers, which was always higher, never commented on). By low, I mean the highest it has even been recorded before in my adult life is 111/66 but is often much, much lower.

I record it more regularly than before because I was placed on a medication to help with my migraines that is alternatively used for people with heart issues. My heart rate has slowed and blood pressure has dropped more. Fine. My watch is on me almost 24/7 and again, I try to record my blood pressure 1x daily. The machine literally sits on my bedside table.

Problem is, as I’ve been losing weight (started approximately 215, now I am about 195), my blood pressure has been rising. It’s been subtle enough that I didn’t think too much until I got a notification from the app that pairs to my cuff saying my recent reading indicated hypertension stage 1. When looking up the numbers I am, in reality, in the more normal range but it is still very high for me (119/80). I think its the /80 that triggered it. Still, I have never been closer than /70 before.

Has this happened to anyone else? If not, any suggestions for what I should do/questions for me to help me see what I could be doing wrong? Please keep in mind I may be slow to respond, my college begins back up (online) again Monday and its my final year.

I’m concerned because I have wanted to beat the health issues I didn’t already have before they came after me but I feel like I’m almost too late :/ and I know 119/80 is so low compared to very serious hypertension, but as someone who has been hypotensive their whole life, I guess I just need to know if this is something to be concerned about.
