As a person who struggled with BED & weight management in the past, I know exactly how consuming it can be and will be. Back to the days, I would, of course, try everything I could to see if it would help, and one of which is to look for an app that can help me to record and manage my disorder. I downloaded almost everything in the market, but none of them was what I was looking for.
So now that I considered myself fully recovered and finally had some energy to do something else, I decided to create an app that IS EXACTLY what I’m looking for. The app included the tools, strategies, and mindsets that I personally found most useful in my journey to recovery, and I truly believe it would also be beneficial to many bingers (or anyone struggling with their weights & body image) in the community. Now I am able to eat when hungry, stop when full, and maintain a healthy weight with only a few minutes exercise a day. I’m feeling better than ever, and I hope you are as well.
I named the app “Pineapple pie” because I wanted it to be as delightful, effortless, and non-judgmental as possible. “Pineapple pie” is a 120-day journey to recovery in a sustainable way. The journey is divided into 4 stages, each with new tasks, features, and instructions. It helps you to track the fullness you feel after each meal, and whether you “exercise”, “binge”, and “feel good” during the day (btw, it is encouraging you to exercise for the purpose of keeping a healthy metabolism & having fun, and not for the purpose of “burning it off”). It keeps a record of how many consecutive days you’ve been binge free, and insights/data of your eating habits in the past 7 days. You’ll also have a paragraph each day to write down your thoughts, feelings, or the food you had during the day.
I want to create an app that would not add any more stress - so no weight record, no restrictions, no calories calculation, and no workout plan. It won’t tell you what you have to eat - always eat what you “want”, not what you think you “should” eat. It only asks you to write down how full you are after each meal. When I was struggling with eating disorder, my hunger & fullness cues were completely messed up, and I finally realized that we need to first restore our perceptions of how full we are before we can “eat when we are full”. This was HUGE in my journey of recovery, so I made it a key component of “Pineapple Pie”. Only at later stages, you will have the option to highlight the badges like “stop when you are full” and “leave the last portion to the next meal”.
I’m also thinking about other potential features, but decided to start with something really simple & intuitive first.

I am open to any suggestions and feedback!
Other questions and concerns you might have:
Is there an Android version of the app?
Not yet, but might happen in the future.
Why is this a paid app?
It takes more than an idea to build an app. I need an engineer to make it happen. I would really appreciate if you can support by downloading or leaving a review. However, if you cannot afford it for any reason but still believe the app would really help you, just DM me and I will see if there’s a workaround. Also the price for the app is a one-time fee instead of a monthly one. I will keep updating the app & try my best to accommodate the needs!
