I am gaining weight, and I cancan't figure out why exactly.

Hi all!

I am a 26 year old male. I am 5’8 and I weigh 175 lbs.

I used to weigh around 210 pounds, and after a loooong time of doing strictly CICO, I got down to 166. I usually ate around 15-17 hundred calories a day. When I got down to 166, I started to cut loose a little bit on the weekends, but didn’t really gain anything back because I always went back to eating that 15-17 hundred calories during the week.

Then about a month ago, I started weight lifting. I go four days a week, and sometimes do cardio after. I also still manage calories during the week within that same amount. I’m now up to 175ish with no end in sight.

What is going on here? I thought the added activity would make my deficit bigger because my TDEE increased, but I actually just weighed myself in at 177.

Should I eat less calories? Should I no longer eat like crap on the weekends?
