Advice needed: how to diet without control

Hi all.

I’ve been ‘dieting’ on and off for a few years. I’ve come for realise that the thing that makes me stop is the want to eat without control.

Everytime I break my ‘diet’ it’s because I’m craving a food but I don’t want to log it because it’ll go over my calories. So I don’t then eat 10x more food making the issue 10x worse.

I think the thing that I enjoy about breaking the ‘diet’ is being able to eat without thinking about how many calories are in the serving. I don’t actually want a whole bag of crisps, but I’m enjoying the feeling of not knowing.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips on what to do to counter the feeling of wanting to lose control when the cravings hit?

I generally enjoy what I eat when I healthy eat, it’s just the occasional want to eat ‘whatever’ without worrying.
